Rosies!

CJ loves to play ring around the rosies and we think it is really funny the way he falls down, because he jumps into the air and lands right on his bum. It looks like it hurts but he will do it over and over again. So we had to get a video of him doing it. Enjoy!

Bedtime Beakthrough

Last week we started trying to get CJ to sleep in his big boy bed. It has been a really hard challenge getting him to stay in bed. Finally we came up with a reward system. Every time he stayed in bed for however long we said then he would get a glow in the dark star to hang above his head. It started out with one min. and he has been doing really well and got up to three min. Then last night he finally got really tired and laid in bed quietly and he stayed in bed for 15 min. and went to sleep by himself! Mommy and Daddy were so proud of him that we went to the toy store today and let him pick a prize out for being such a big boy. The toy that we finally ended up with is a firetruck. It makes noises and lights up. It even sings a song. CJ loves it and we played with it all night tonight. We are so proud of our big boy, he keeps getting bigger and bigger every day and it is fun to see the new things that he learns how to do.

Thanksgiving Point Farm

The other day we went to the farm at Thanksgiving Point. CJ loved it! He got to see a lot of animals up close. He loved feeding all of the goats and sheep with Grandpa. He even had a few say hi over the fence. The only animals he didn't like were the birds. We started looking at them and CJ was very tentative but then a big turkey made a loud noise right by him and that was the end. We also got to see some horses and cows. CJ also liked feeding the ducks. One of his favorite parts was riding the pony's. He got to do it a lot because he went with a group of adults that gave him their tickets. After the farm we went over to Cabella's and got to each lunch with Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle D. It was a really fun adventure!

Knock Knock

The other day CJ told me his first knock knock joke. It really wasn't funny but I thought it was fun that he knew the pattern of the joke and it was just cute.

CJ: Knock Knock
Mom: Who's there?
CJ: Medicine
Mom: Medicine who?
CJ: Medicine Mommy!

He thought that he was really funny and laughed for a long time. I hope you liked his joke! :)

2 year stats

We went to the doctor today for CJ's two year check up. The doctor said he was a perfect little boy! There wasn't anything wrong with him. She was actually having a lot of fun with him today because he was interacting with her and talking with her, which he hasn't done in the past. He has always been two shy and hasn't ever talked while she is in the room.

CJ just keeps getting taller and taller. He is 38 in. tall which is in the 100+ percentile; it is off the charts. He is about the size of an average three year old according to the chart that I found online. He was 29 lbs. which is about average for a two year old. The doctor said it was about the 60th percentile. So he is just a big strong boy. She also told us congrats on the upcoming baby. She is excited to see him and told us that we have a good formula for making healthly babies. :)

CJ was sooo good at the doctors today. I was really happy, he had fun playing with all of the doctor tools and helping her with them. He even got to listen to his own heart beat. He got to do it a couple of times because he liked it so much and kept asking her to help him do it. He was even a good boy when he had to get his shot. He only had to have one this time which was good and he didn't cry too long. Daddy kept asking him if he wanted to go get ice cream or cookies after his shot to try and help him feel better and he didn't care, and then I asked him if he wanted to go get a sticker from the lady at the counter and CJ stopped crying and walked out of the room to get his sticker. He was very excited about his doggy stickers that he picked out and played with them the whole way home.

Oh Boy!

This morning CJ woke me up yelling "mom mom mom mom ..." So I got out of bed and got his cup of milk and went to change his diaper. I walked into his room and he was standing in his crib Naked, no pj's, no diaper, just NOTHING! I walked over and started to inspect the crib thinking that I was going to find a wet swimming pool, but luckily he must have just taken everything off because everything was still dry. I hurried and got a diaper on him before I had any sprinklers go off and we were good. Until ... naptime. I put CJ down for his nap and he was still awake 30 min. later so I went in there and he had all of his blankets and animals stacked in the corner of the bed and was standing there in just his shirt, no diaper again. I wasn't as lucky this time. He pointed to the opposite corner of the bed and there was the puddle I was expecting. The nice thing was that he didn't pee all over his animals and blanket, and he was talented enough to not get anything on his legs or shirt. But that ended the nap very quickly and CJ was happy because he got to go watch Baby Van Gogh instead. I talked to him about not taking off his diaper in his bed and I hope that tomorrow when I go and get him out he is still fully dressed.

Birthday Party's

This year we did two birthday party's for CJ. One with the family and one with friends. They were both a lot of fun! The first one we did was with our families. Both grandparents came up with some of CJ's uncles. This year CJ is really into Thomas the train so a lot of his presents were Thomas. He loves playing with all of his new toys still, which is really nice because I think I needed new toys to play with too. :)

What a handsome kid!
He didn't care about his new clothes. He just threw them on the floor with the wrapping paper. :)
He loves his new magnet puzzles. He didn't want to open any other presents after this one.

Thomas!

He was helping Uncle T figure out how to put the batteries in the trains so that they would work.

We finally figured it out and got everything put together! Yay!
Here comes his big Thomas tent. One of mommy's favorite toys because he can't make the tent fall apart like the tents we use to make out of foam pads.

This year I ordered a cake instead of trying to make one. It was a lot less stress this way. We decided to do "How to Train Your Dragon" because that was CJ's first movie that he saw in the theaters and he really liked it. Plus it was just a really fun cake. I was so proud of CJ, we talked about blowing out the candles and I showed him where they were and he did it all by himself in one try. He was a pro. I just wish I had gotten a picture or video of him blowing them out.
CJ loved eating his cake. He ate a whole piece all by himself.

Cheeser Smile!

Our second party we did with all of CJ's friends. I was so happy we had so many people come. Out of 5 families 4 of them were able to come. It was a lot of fun. This year I decided to keep it really simple because CJ is only 2 and all of his friends are 4 or younger so we just went outside to the playground at our complex and played. We had shovels and bean bags and bubbles that we got to play with along with the swings and slide. I think it went really well. We got to play for about a while and then we ate some cup cakes. (Now one of CJ's favorite words. He always wants one when he is eating.) And then we opened presents. It was a really really fun to see all the kids play and interact, I'm really glad that I was able to do a friend party this year!

The birthday boy and his daddy!
Cassie and CJ playing with the bean bags.
Opening presents! I love seeing all the little kids so excited about all of the presents. CJ had lots of friends to help him figure out what to do with each new present. :)
