I love you

~I have a few stories from today. First CJ and I went for a walk today to look for trucks and helicopters. On our walk we saw a couple of small trucks, a garbage truck, a few buses, two helicopters and an airplane. He loved going for a walk and looking for everything. I was so proud of him because he walked the whole time.

~We also went to see Daddy at work tonight and CJ loved looking out the window and watching the airplanes fly by. He got so excited everytime he saw one. It was lots of fun to see him point and laugh and just get so excited just to see an airplane.

~Daddy works at night so every night as part of our nighttime routine we call Daddy and tell him good night. And lately CJ has gotten really good at saying "night night" to Daddy but tonight he also told Daddy "I love you" It was so cute!!! And just in time for Valentines Day :)

The other day we played with balloons and I decided to play around and we made an elephant hat. CJ loved it and would walk around the house making elephant noises. I thought it was supper cute so I just wanted to show all of you some pics. Enjoy!

For my Dear Brother Greg!

So I just recently realized that my Brother in Law Greg who is on a mission in Africa checks my blog every week to see what we are up to and to hear cute stories about CJ, so I am making a goal for myself and I am going to try and write at least one blog post every week so that he has something new to read everytime he checks. We will see how it goes I'm going to try my best. So I wanted to start off with just a bunch of little stories of cute things that CJ has been doing lately.

~ Lately CJ has really been into trucks. There is a cherry picker by our house that he likes to look at and he always asks to see more trucks. So The other day we went out to the front of our complex because I remembered that they were fixing the road out there and there were some big trucks. CJ loved it! We watched them work for about 40 min. before we decided it was time to go inside for lunch.

~ So after that day we haven't seen any more trucks working on the road. We have gone out to see if we could see any trucks but we only see trucks that drive by and CJ isn't as interested in those. One time when we were looking for trucks two helicopters flew buy and CJ thought they were really really cool. He kept asking for more more more and I told him I couldn't make more helicopters fly by so we had to come inside and find some videos on the computer. He thought there were really cool and that whole day he kept saying "cupta cupta"

~ Today we went to the Dinosaur Museum with my friend Mandy and her two little boys. CJ had a lot of fun and I think Mandy's kids had fun showing CJ everything. They would all run down the halls and hold on to each other as they walked along. It was really cute, when I get the pics from Mandy I will post them. CJ really liked playing with the sand and water. He had fun throwing the sand and making it splash in the water. He also got to play in the sand for the first time. I think he was having fun just figuring out how he could move it and dig in it. Then he started watching the older kids and they all started throwing sand everywhere so we had to go so someone didn't end up getting sand in their eye or something. He had a blast and we will definetly have to go again.

18 Months

Cj and I just went to the doctors for his 18 month apt. He is getting so big! He got really tall now he is 35 1/2 inches tall and is 27 lbs. He has always been really tall but he has always been around the 97th percentile, but now his is off the charts! The doctor was very impressed with him and all the things that he is doing, the only problem is that we just have to tell her about it because CJ doesn't like to show off. He gets really shy and just sits on mommy's lap the whole time. We showed her the sounds he knows from his favorite book right now which is Mr. Brown Can Moo Can You? He loves to make all the sounds and he loves to hug and kiss the page with the Hippo on it. He loves to read it so much that Mommy and Daddy bought him his own board book copy so that he didn't rip the pages in Mommy's copy. The only problem is that it isn't the full book! There isn't a hippo!!! But he is still enjoying it. I can't believe all the things he is doing right now. He is really starting to grow and learn a lot. It will be interesting to see all the new things that he learns how to do in the next 6 months until his next doctors visit.

Christmas Morning

This year I was looking forward to sleeping in one last time before my kids were old enough to be so excited that they couldn't sleep, but that wasn't the case. Mommy and Daddy were up until 3 o'clock putting together christmas and CJ wakes up at 5:30. Mommy gets him to lay back down for a while, but he tossed and turned for another hour until 6:30 when he was done trying to go back to sleep. Daddy asked him if he was ready to see if Santa had come and he got really excited. He was dancing around the room waiting for Mommy and Daddy to get ready to go upstairs. We opened the door and he ran out and then stopped at the stairs. I really wish I could have known what he was thinking but he was very hesitant to go up and see what was up there.

Santa

This year CJ didn't like Santa. I was hoping that it wouldn't be a big deal because Santa is a familiar person but Santa came out of the room ringing loud bells and said in his deep voice "Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas" And that was all it took for CJ to start crying. He didn't want to do anything with Santa. After he had calmed down a bit and Santa had given him his present (a christmas tree ornament of a turtle) We tried to have him sit on Mommy's lap on Santa's lap, and this is how well that went ...

We were there for about 30 sec.

After that he was really sceptical when we asked him about Santa, and was scared when we asked him if Santa was going to come and give CJ presents, and he got really scared when we told him that it was ok because he wouldn't see Santa again because Santa would come while CJ was sleeping. Poor Kid!

Snowsuit

One of CJ's christmas presents this year was a snowsuit. He got to open it early so he could wear it when we went to see the lights at Temple Square. He doesn't really like getting into his suit, and he fights, kicks and screams the whole time but when he finally is all dressed he really likes to go outside and play in the snow.

When we went up to my parents to celebrate Christmas, we got CJ all dressed up and we went sledding down their street. At first it was hard for him to stay sitting up because his suit is so fluffy but we learned that we couldn't start pulling too fast and I think he got used to sitting in the sled. He also loves to throw snowballs, they don't go very far but he thinks it is tons of fun.
