Birthday Pool

Today was CJ's first birthday. Today we set up his pool that he got and let him play around in it for a while. We had some fun trying to find a place to fill it up with water. We finally had to put it on our porch and fill it up from the washer hookups. It was kind of nice because we mixed the cold and hot water so the water wasn't freezing cold. He loved playing in the water and sliding down the slide.

Happy Birthday

Happy 1st Birthday CJ!!!

Every year for the Daddy Man's birthday I give him an Old Navy Flag Day shirt, so today we started the same tradition with CJ. Now they can both wear their shirts together and be way too cute. :) Happy Birthday little guy!

Walking Video

Here is the promised video of CJ walking. He is all over the place now :) and keeping me busy these days!

Swim Lessons

I signed CJ up for swim lessons this month. We have gone to one lesson so far and have three more. He loves swimming and it is fun to know different ways to be able to swim with him. His favorite part is when Mom blows bubbles. He has only blown bubbles once in the bathtub at home but he thinks it is funny and laughs a lot when he sees them. He also loves to splash and he can float on his back really well. He is still a little skeptical of sliding off the side of the pool and going under the water. Hopefully he will learn that it is fun to jump off the side of the pool, that was always one of my favorite things to do with the little kids when I taught swim lessons.

Vacation

This past week the three of us went on a road trip to Washington and Oregon. We all had a lot of fun. Here are some pics and stories of the places that we went to.

Seattle:
We loved it up by Seattle. We stayed in a city called Redmond. It was beautiful up there and we loved all the trees and ferns. It was just all so green! We drove around a lot and went to a lot of parks to give CJ a chance to get out of the car.

One of the places that we drove by was Bungie. We got out and took a picture of the Daddy Man in front of the door. If he has his wish he will work there when he graduates.
While we were in Redmond we got to go swimming in the outdoor pool (it was only 76 degrees outside, but it was warm enough to swim) It was the first time the CJ has ever been swimming. He was a little timid at first but he loved it. He even gave his daddy kisses for taking him swimming. By the third time we went swimming he was splashing and laughing and just having a BLAST!
While we were there we couldn't miss seeing the Space Needle. It was fun to see from the car. We didn't have time to walk around or go up.
Forks:
The next place we stayed was Forks. Twilight headquarters! Everything there is Twilight. On our way up there we decided that we didn't want to take a ferry so we drove around the sound and got up to the top of the Hood Cannal. There is a bridge that takes you over the cannal there and we found out about 5 min before we got to it that it was under construction. The middle section was under water.

This was a huge problem because if the bridge is closed the only way to get to the other side is to go around. This drive added 3 extra hours in the car. This was a long day and CJ was really ready to be out of the car by the time we got to Forks which was about 10:30 pm and past his bedtime.
We got to drive past Bella Italia in Port Angeles and see all of the Twilight sights in Forks.

We even drove down to La Push beach and watched the sun set. It was really pretty but it was also really really cold. We were going to have a picnic on the beach but we ended up eating in the car instead.
Portland:
In Portland we mainly just hung out at the hotel and went swimming. We drove down to Lake Oswego and saw the Temple and went to a park by the Lake and let CJ wade a little in it. The water was really cold and he didn't really want to walk in the water. On our way home we stopped and saw Multanoma (spelling ?) falls and that was amazing. We hiked up to the bridge and CJ thought it was really cool seeing the water and everyone's dogs!
